Review

I mostly wanted to see this film because of the cast. I had only seen a teaser a long time ago, but between Jason Bateman and Charlie Day and a return to the big screen from Jennifer Anniston, I was sold. The film did not disappoint. I read a lot of reviews that said it was just a vulgar comedy, and as that may be, I think it speaks to audiences on the very basic function that sometimes bosses are assholes. I thought all three stories had an interesting uniqueness to them and the way the stories overlapped was done well. The comedy itself, like I noted, is adult-based, swearing, drugs, etc. Not a lot of comedies have murder in them, so, in that way, I found the process interesting. The acting was good (seeing Charlie Day in something other than It’s Always Sunny was scary but he did a great job!). I’d suggest seeing the film. I had thought about going to see Bad Teacher, but i’m glad I picked this because I have a feeling this is better than that film will be and I will wait for that. Jason Bateman is certainly gaining a popularity as of late, and I hope he doesn’t turn into someone who does the same ole same ole films because i’ve really enjoyed him since watching Arrested Development. The film’s basis, of the main characters trying to kill their bosses gets them into some crazy antics and is a good shut-off-your-mind and just laugh type of film!
