One think to give mad props on is that “Buried” is the only film to take place entirely in a coffin! Given, a film like this wold not have been able to have succedded 10 years ago because a primary booster are the cell phone calls that he makes to people (embassy, 911, his wife, the kidnappers, etc.), but works nonetheless. There were some very intense parts of the film, and it is obviously full of claustrophobia to begin with. A psychological thriller that you have to allow yourself to like (with such a limited environment), but gives enough to be picked up by the viewer. The part with the snake had me on the edge of my seat. The thought of being in a small wooden coffin, and that no one may be coming for you, is a terrifying concept, and is pushed to it’s absolute especially within the last moments of the film. The film is well worth the time and effort, and I can understand why it was on so many horror lists this past year (although would def. call it a thriller, but psychological horror works as well!). What would you do with just a phone, a lighter, a pen, and a limited amount of oxygen?
